3 Better Breakfast Tips

Eating BreakfastBreakfast – skipped by some, never missed by others. Although mornings can be hectic and leave little time to sit down to a full course meal, research shows that breakfast is truly one of the most important meals of the day for everyone, and for more reasons than one! Did you know that not eating breakfast can cause your brain and body to work insufficiently throughout the day? Because of its influence on our overall health, it is essential to make eating breakfast part of our everyday routine, even if that means it has to be done on the go.

Now that we’ve touched on why breakfast really matters, we’d like to offer three ways to improve how you start your day; see below:

Protein: Regardless of where you get it from, a source of protein should be included in your breakfast every day. Why? Protein is a great source of energy and can help you feel alert during the day!

Whole Grains: Similar to the way protein works, whole grains help boost energy and provide the nutrients you need to get through the day. If you’re not sure where whole grains can be found, cereal or oatmeal is a good place to start!

Fruits: Although the amount of fruit needed each day varies depending on a number of factors, it is something that should never be lacking from your diet. To make sure you’re getting the amount of fruit your body requires each day, start off your morning with a piece of fresh fruit or have it on the side with something such as a yogurt.

The next time you think about skipping breakfast, or the next time you need an idea of what to eat, we hope you’ll keep these three tips in mind. By changing up your eating habits (even if it’s only slightly) you can help yourself feel better all throughout the day.
