Easter Dinner Preparation Tips

Chip's Family Restaurant, Easter Dinner TipsAre you responsible for Sunday’s Easter feast? If you offered to host family and friends at your home this weekend to celebrate the holiday, we understand that getting prepared can be a stressful experience – are the tables and chairs set up? Do you have enough appetizers? Drinks? Desserts? Between planning the set up, the food and maybe even activities depending on the type of party you plan to throw, there’s a lot that needs to be finalized on the days leading up to any holiday. But although there are so many factors that need to be considered, one of the biggest stressors is likely the dinner.

To help this Sunday’s party planners eliminate some of their pre-holiday stress when it comes to an evening meal, we put together the following tips:

1. First things first – make sure your kitchen is completely free of clutter. Preparing a big meal is hard enough as it is, but it can be even harder if you have limited space to work with.

2. Know what ingredients you need and make sure you have them. If you wait to start cooking before you figure out what you’re missing, you’ll find yourself caught between a rock and a hard place – how are you going to leave the home when you have things preheating or cooking already?

3. If something can be cooked ahead of time, do it! Although you’ll probably save the main course for a few hours before you plan to eat, you should always take advantage of preparing sides that can be put together before guests arrive.

4. Planning to serve some type of meat for dinner? If so, make sure that it is thawed properly before cooking! For the sake of your health (and your guests too), use your refrigerator to thaw your meat rather than leave it on the kitchen counter.

By using these tips, we bet you’ll be able to relax as you get ready to welcome guests – even if you are only able to relax a little bit! What do your plans for Easter look like?

From all of us here at Chip’s Family Restaurant, we’d like to wish you a very happy holiday weekend! We hope to see you at our Fairfield, Orange, Trumbull or Wethersfield location soon!
