How To Make A Homemade Omelet
Posted on April 10th, 2015 by Chips Restaurants
When Saturday and Sunday rolls around each week, what is typically on your family’s breakfast menu? Maybe you prepare a meal complete with eggs and toast on the side, or maybe you find yourself grabbing a bagel or pouring a bowl of cereal at your leisure. Whatever the case may be, we know that at least once in a while, it’s nice to have a meal fit for a king in the comfort of your own home.
So now let us ask you this – when was the last time you really went all out and cooked a restaurant-style meal at home – pancakes, omelets, french toast and all? If it’s been a while, use the following to make the perfect homemade omelet for you and your family:
Step 1: Prepare all of your toppings ahead of time. Depending on what you want to include you may need to cook some ingredients before hand, but at the very least have everything sorted into different bowls prior to turning on the stove.
Step 2: Place your eggs in their own bowl and add just a touch of water. Then, using your whisk, scramble the eggs so that you have one consistent mixture.
Step 3: Heat your pan and when ready, pour in the eggs – be sure to allow them to set on the edges.
Step 4: Add the toppings to the middle! If the middle is still soft, that’s okay – the eggs will cook even when the toppings are placed in the pan.
Step 5: Lift one side of the omelet and fold it towards the other. Once the first side is turned in, tilt your pan so that the other edge folds in as well.
Step 6: Flip and enjoy!
Doesn’t sound too hard, right? Although it can be relatively easy to make your own omelet at home, we also know how frustrating it can be if it doesn’t come out just right. If you’re not up to giving it a shot yourself, come down to Chip’s Family Restaurant and allow us to make one for you! Guests can choose from one of our many available omelets or build their own!
