With a winter storm watch announced for Fairfield, CT and the surrounding areas due to the impending snow we’re expecting, there’s one thing we’re certain of – it’s cold out there. And sure, you can wrap yourself up in your favorite blanket to keep warm, but something else you can do is choose to serve a warm meal at night. Here are three you may want to consider:

Chicken Marsala

This delicious dinner requires a 20 minute prep time and a 20 minute cook time – not too bad for a cold winter night where all you want to do is cuddle up on the couch! Start by gathering skinless/boneless chicken breasts, flour, prosciutto, and Marsala wine (full list of ingredients here), then get cooking!

French Onion Soup

Or any kind of soup, really. Warm to the touch, a tasty bowl of soup is the perfect dinner meal when you’re trying to stay toasty – it’ll heat your body up from the moment you put a spoonful in your mouth! Get the recipe here.

Stewed Chicken with Andouille

Have members of the family that are fans of chicken? Then this twist on your traditional chicken dinner is one you need to try! The recipe, courtesy of the Food Network, calls for skinless/boneless chicken thighs, kosher salt, andouille sausage, flour,  chicken broth, red potatoes, whole baby okra, lime and fresh cilantro – a delicious combination when mixed!

Naturally, a key theme here is that anything you serve on a cold night should be warm – save those cold foods for the summer! And once dinner is done, don’t forget to whip up some warm desserts.
