Have a graduation party to plan over the next few weeks? Whether your child is graduating from elementary school, middle school, high school, or college, throwing them a graduation party is one of the nicest ways to bring friends and family together to celebrate their achievements. But, as is typical for any party host, one of the toughest parts about doing so is figuring out what food should be served to satisfy all guests.
If you’re looking to put together a menu for a graduation party, you’re in luck – we’ve listed out a few foods that we recommend including below.
Chicken nuggets: If it’s a little one that’s graduating and you’re inviting some of their friends, you can’t go wrong with finger foods like chicken nuggets! Just make sure you have enough ketchup and mustard to last for the entire party.
Hotdogs and hamburgers: Classic BBQ favorites are always a safe choice no matter how old your guests are. If weather permits and you do plan to host your party outdoors, barbecuing may also be the easiest!
Grilled steak sandwiches: Have a bit of an older crowd? If you want to make your meal just a tad more fancy, grilled steak sandwiches are a delicious option. You’ll need 2 sirloin, skirt or flank steaks, extra-virgin olive oil, coarse salt and freshly ground pepper, 6 tomatoes, 2 large loaves of bread, some fresh basil, and romaine lettuce leaves to get started.
Grilled peppers and chiles: Need a side dish? We think grilled peppers and chiles will work just fine! This recipe has a cook time of less than 30 minutes, so you won’t have to spend too much time away from your guests!
Pasta salad: Is it really a party if there isn’t pasta salad included? Probably not! Pasta salad is such a classic side dish that we couldn’t leave it off of our list – specifically, try this three-bean pasta salad.
Aside from your main course, you definitely can’t forget about the dessert! These candy-sprinkled frosted brownies will satisfy just about everyone’s sweet tooth (our mouths are already watering!), but if you’re looking for something other than chocolate, an apple pie, crumb cake, or vanilla cupcakes will do!
Even if you have a graduation party planned, that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate more than once. So, bring your friends and family on down to one of our five restaurants in Connecticut so that we can celebrate with you!
