How To Make Red, White and Blue Pancakes
Posted on June 30th, 2016 by Chips Restaurants
4th of July weekend is just about here, and like most, we have a good feeling that you too are finalizing your plans for how you’ll celebrate. But even if you have a weekend packed with BBQs, family parties, maybe even some fireworks shows, you’ll need to eat breakfast before you do anything. What better way to start off the day than with some festive pancakes?
Below, take a look at the recipe for red, white and blue pancakes:
Step 1: Prepare your pancake mix and then divide the batter into two bowls (make sure to put an equal amount in each).
Step 2: Add blue food coloring to one bowl and red food coloring to the other, then mix until you’ve created just the right shade of each.
Step 3: Pour a little less than 1/4 cup of batter from each bowl onto your griddle to start making your pancakes. Repeat this step until you have used up all the batter, then place all of your red pancakes on one plate and your blue on the other.
Step 4: Take a red pancake, then add a layer of whipped cream, followed by a blue pancake stacked on top. Repeat this step until all pancakes have been used.
Step 5: Add a final squirt of whipped cream on the top of each stack as well as some blueberries and strawberries.
Step 6: Enjoy!
If you decide to make some red, white and blue pancakes of your own this weekend to celebrate, we’d love to see how they come out – be sure to share your pictures with us on Facebook or Twitter!
At the same time, don’t forget that we also offer patriotic pancakes! Topped with blueberries, fresh bananas and strawberries, this is one stack of buttermilk pancakes you’ll definitely want to try.
