Posted on July 15th, 2016 by Chips Restaurants

Though summer temperatures are usually much more bearable in the morning, we know that the last thing you probably want to do is slave over a hot stove to whip up some breakfast. After all, the heat produced from your stove will only cause your whole house to feel hotter, and you’ll certainly feel the warmth radiating too as you stand close by.

To help you start off summer mornings the right way, we’ve compiled a list of breakfast ideas that not only help you avoid the heat, but that also don’t require too much time in case you have to grab something on the go – take a look below.

Chia Pudding

Chia seeds are superfood seeds! As they are filled with fiber, potassium, magnesium and omegas, the health benefits of chia seeds are endless – starting with the fact that they can help boost your energy, and thus get you ready to start your day. There are a ton of chia pudding recipes out there for you to try, none of which require you to break a sweat!

Smoothies

There are so many different types of smoothies that we bet you could have one every day of the week and not get bored. Certainly refreshing to sip on and healthy when you use the right ingredients (strawberries and bananas, anyone?), these are sure to keep you cool on a hot summer morning and can easily be transported if you’re in a hurry.

An Acai Bowl

You drink smoothies, right? Most of the time, yes, but an acai bowl is basically a smoothie that you’d eat out of a bowl instead. Like a regular smoothie, you can create an acai bowl that’s completely customized for your taste buds – choose whichever toppings (such as fruit) that you’d like! If you haven’t tried one yet, here is a good recipe to start with.

Yogurt Parfaits

If you like yogurt, then you’ll definitely like a yogurt parfait. These are incredibly easy to make – all you need is your favorite yogurt flavor, your favorite fruit(s), and maybe a scoop or two of granola or your favorite cereal. Once you have all of the ingredients ready, all you have to do is combine and enjoy!

Oatmeal

We know what you’re thinking – oatmeal is a delicious, but hot breakfast. Though this is true depending on how you prepare it, there are plenty of summer oatmeal breakfasts that can be made and served as cold meals too. Here, you’d take all of your ingredients in a bowl and refrigerate them for either four hours or overnight before digging in.

Although these summer breakfasts are relatively easy to make, on those days when you simply aren’t up for any type of cooking, come down to one of our five locations and let us take care of the work! We offer everything from pancakes to belgian waffles, french toast, eggs and more, and you’ll certainly keep cool in our restaurant!
