Although it’s only about the middle of October, Halloween really is just around the corner. And while you may be using this time to finalize costumes, purchase Halloween candy for trick-or-treaters, and put up any remaining decorations, don’t forget to plan how you’ll celebrate the morning of – starting with breakfast!
To ensure that Halloween gets off to a spooktacular start, we recommend making some Halloween themed pancakes – here’s what you can do:
How to Make Halloween Ghost Pancakes
For this recipe, first you’ll need to gather the following ingredients:
- Pancake mix (2 cups)
- Granulated sugar (2 tablespoons)
- Ground cinnamon (1 teaspoon)
- Ground cloves (1/4 teaspoon)
- Ground nutmeg (1/8 teaspoon)
- A pinch of ground ginger
- Eggs (2 – slightly beaten)
- Milk (1 cup)
- Whipping cream (3/4 cup)
- Powdered sugar (2 tablespoons)
- Chocolate chips
Once you have your ingredients set aside, following these instructions:
Step 1: Place your pan on the stove and heat things up using medium-high heat.
Step 2: Put your pancake mix, granulated sugar, cloves, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg into a large bowl and mix. After, add in your eggs and milk and stir well.
Step 3: Pour 1/4 cup of your batter onto your pan at a time. You’ll know it’s time to flip your pancakes when they start to bubble.
Step 4: Make your whipped cream ghosts! To do so, whip your cream until it’s nice and thick. Then, start adding powdered sugar and keep beating so that things stiffen up. Once your ghosts are ready, add 2 chocolate chips for the eyes and place your ghosts right on top of your pancake stacks.
Step 5: Drizzle some syrup on top and enjoy!
If you want to get even more creative, keep in mind that you can always make your pancakes orange and/or black to get into the holiday spirit! More Halloween pancake ideas can be found here.
