5 Great Breakfast Ideas for Thanksgiving Morning
Posted on November 15th, 2016 by Chips Restaurants
When it comes to preparing Thanksgiving foods most people are primarily concerned with what they’ll eat later in the day – the turkey. But, just because Thanksgiving dinner is usually a big meal, that doesn’t mean you should start the day on an empty stomach and forget about breakfast. Take a look at some of the best breakfast meals for Thanksgiving morning below.
Pancakes
Since you’ll need to save room for later you don’t have to go crazy with eggs, bacon and toast on the side, but pancakes alone will certainly provide you with enough fuel to get you through the morning. If you’d like to keep up with fall flavors we recommend some pumpkin spice pancakes, but regardless of what recipe and flavor you use, we’re sure it will do.
French Toast
Regular toast should be enough to fill you up, but we think taking it up a notch and making French toast instead is a better option – especially when you sprinkle some powdered sugar on top! Same as the above, you don’t have to go too over the top and make side dishes if you don’t want to over do it, but if you have room and won’t be eating the turkey until way later, some eggs and bacon might be nice!
Oatmeal
If you’re looking for something a little bit lighter, oatmeal is always a good choice (and should Thanksgiving morning be chilly, when served hot it will warm you right up!). Oatmeal is a healthy breakfast choice too, so if you’re getting started on a New Years Resolution to eat better early, this option will put you on the right track.
Yogurt
Another light option if you don’t want to get too full or if you have an early dinner planned! If this is the breakfast that you choose, we recommend enhancing its flavor by adding some granola – you’ll definitely love the crunch it gives your yogurt too!

Fresh Fruit
Some may view a bowl of fruit as a snack, but it can definitely be eaten for breakfast too, especially if you’re just looking for something simple to hold you over. We suggest mixing in a couple of different fruits – strawberries, blueberries, cantaloupe, etc – but you can always just cut up some pieces of your one favorite fruit too!
Now let’s talk about the days following Thanksgiving. After spending a ton of time in the kitchen preparing the turkey and all of your dinner side dishes, we know you probably won’t even want to look at the stove for a bit. Rather than be responsible for cooking your own food for the rest of the holiday weekend, we’d love to have you dine with us so we can take care of the cooking for you!
