Each Thanksgiving, our plates are filled with turkey, ham and mashed potatoes. But, don’t get caught up in dinner too quickly – you need to make room for dessert!
If you’re going to be the one to host Thanksgiving at your home this year and need some inspiration for what sweets to serve, we’ve got you covered. Check out some of the top Thanksgiving desserts below – they’re sure to give a sweet and satisfying end to your holiday feast!
Pies
Apple pie: you can never go wrong with apple pie, but if you want to make things even more delicious, try this very berry apple pie – we’re positive you’ll love it!
Bourbon-Pecan pie: if you love pecan pie, this recipe is a must-try. As soon as you bite in you’ll experience all kinds of flavors, including dark caramel, toasted nuts and of course, the bourbon!
Pear-Blackberry pie: bet you haven’t tried this before! Instead of your classic apple, this recipe calls for ripe pears, and it gives the flavor a little extra kick by adding in some blackberries.
Cupcakes
S’mores pumpkin cupcakes: we think the name of this recipe speaks for itself! S’mores AND pumpkin? It doesn’t get much better than that, and we think you’ll agree. Get the full details for the recipe here.
Pumpkin spice cupcakes: pumpkin spice is a staple of the fall season – this we know – so we think pumpkin spice cupcakes make for the perfect Thanksgiving dessert!
Carrot cupcakes: even though carrot cupcakes may not be your first choice if you have vanilla and chocolate cupcakes also within reach, we think you’ll love how these taste – seriously, give them a try!
Mini Desserts
Pumpkin cheesecake bars: most people expect to see brownies, pies, cupcakes and cakes, so why not surprise them with something a bit more unique? We think these pumpkin cheesecake bars will do the trick.
Pumpkin truffles: yep, you read right…pumpkin truffles! This recipe yields 35 truffles, so you’ll have plenty to serve your dinner guests and potentially even have some left over to enjoy yourself at a later date!
Samoa apple slices: this is probably one of our favorite dessert ideas from this whole list, and it’s super easy to make! You’ll just need granny smith apples, caramel sauce, coconut flakes, semisweet chocolate chips and butter to get started.
