You’ve only got a little over a week left to indulge in your guilty pleasures when it comes to eating. You can use the holidays as an excuse to dive back in for seconds and pile the dessert on your plate. But make the most of it now because once the New Year hits, it’s time to crack down and start eating healthy.

Don’t be scared, there are lots of healthy foods that actually taste good and the best part about it all, a few substitutions and a bit of self-control here and there can really go a long way. Here are a few quick and easy changes you can make to start eating healthier in 2017:

Cook Up A Healthy Base

Cooking a large pot of quinoa or beans once a week is all you need to do in order to have a base for all of your healthy meals for the remainder of the week. You can use both of these foods to supplement your breakfast, lunch, dinner or anything in between.

Put Down The Cream And Sugar

Start drinking your coffee black. Not only will it help eliminate excess sugar and calories from your diet, you might actually start drinking better tasting coffee. You know, cups of joe that don’t taste like they’re burnt.

Cut Out The Oil

One key way to do so is to roast your foods instead of frying them. From chicken fingers to broccoli, roasting at high temperatures will give you the crisp you’re looking for without using numerous cups of oil.

Bring Your Lunch

Have you ever thought about how much money you spend on lunch each week? Even if it’s just a few bucks here and there it adds up! In addition to saving money, anything you make yourself is likely to be healthier than whatever you’d buy instead so stock up on brown paper bags and start packing your lunch the night before.

From our Chip’s Family to yours, we’re wishing you a very safe and happy New Year!
