4 Simple Ways To Eat Healthy In The New Year

Cut out carbs. Eat more veggies. Substitute this for that. When it comes to cleaning up your diet, lots of times it’s easier said than done. If you’re not used to eating healthy on a regular basis, consuming nothing but healthy foods 100% of the time can seem nearly impossible. Luckily for you, it’s not as difficult as it sounds. Here are a few simple ways to make eating healthier in 2017 a reality:

1. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. We’re sure you’ve heard that before, but did you know that your breakfast should be full of protein? Protein helps keep you full while giving your muscles the fuel they need to take on daily activities. Begin your day with at least 30 grams of protein.

2. Skip the sugary, artificial snacks and grab healthier options whenever you get hungry during the day. Almonds, hard boiled eggs, protein powder, and fresh fruits are easy to carry with you and make for great mid-day snacks.

3. Eat your vegetables at every meal. If you’re not a fan, chances are you’re just not cooking them the right way. For starters, add them to omelettes or toss them in salads and once you find a few that you love, make them a part of every dish. Keep in mind that if you fill yourself up with healthy veggies, you won’t be hungry for junk food.

4. Don’t completely get rid of your favorite foods. We’re not saying you need to cut out burgers, cookies or apple pie completely, but we do suggest limiting them. Treating yourself every once in awhile is a wonderful way to reward yourself for eating healthy most of the time.
