4 Foods to Take Advantage of in January | Chip's Family Restaurant

We bet you can name a handful of foods that are summer staples, but what about if we asked you to name a few that are in season in the colder months like January? It’s much harder to think of things, right? Well, even though the weather outside is frigid, we’ve got lots of items on our menu that will warm you up and keep your belly full. See below for a few foods to take advantage of this month!

Lemons:

Did you know that this citrus fruit contains high levels of vitamin C, B-complex vitamins, calcium, copper, iron and magnesium? They also contain more potassium than apples or grapes and potassium is great for your heart! But aside from all of that, lemon chips pair well with pancakes, so be sure to try them out the next time you stop in for breakfast.

Cauliflower:

Whether you’re cooking at home or ordering takeout, cauliflower makes for the perfect side dish. Sautee it in a pan with garlic and olive oil or chop it finely into riced cauliflower and season with a dash of salt and pepper.

Salmon:

This cold-water fish contains a great deal of health benefits including antioxidant amino acids, vitamin D and is an outstanding source of protein. If you’re looking for something on the healthier side, give our All Natural Salmon Salad a try!

Cod:

Treat yourself to the English staple – fish and chips. After all, not much can go wrong with beer battered fillets and tasty potatoes.
