How To Remove Food Stains From Carpet | Chip's Family Restaurant
Although temperatures are still on the chilly side here in the Connecticut area, spring will be here before we know it and you know what that means – spring cleaning! So, while we’re on the topic, we’re going to step away from our normal food posts and recipes and take some time to focus on cleaning. But since food is such a big part of our lives, we just had to incorporate it somehow. See below to find out a few quick and easy ways to get rid of food stains from carpet.

For Water Soluble Stains (Berries, Colas, Gravy, Ice Cream, etc.)
Simply mix ¼ teaspoon of a non-bleach detergent or white vinegar with 32 ounces of water. Apply directly to stained area and wipe clean.

For Special Water-Soluble Stains (Chocolate, Coffee, Mustard, Tea, Wine)

Mix 1 tablespoon of ammonia with 1 cup of water, unless you have wool or wool-blend carpet. Still not doing the trick? Try 1 part chlorine bleach and 5 parts water.

For Fat and Oil Stains
This may sound a bit crazy, but trust us it works! Place a paper towel on top of the stain and iron the paper towel on the warm setting. This should get the fats or oils to release off of the carpet and stick to the paper towel.

If you want to skip the stains altogether, you can always head out to Chip’s Family Restaurant to eat! We serve much more than just great pancakes – in fact, we’ve got delicious lunch and dinner options, too!
