We’re almost certain that hummus is one of the best snacks on earth. With a variety of flavors available and the fact that you can basically dip anything in there, it’s no wonder so many people turn to it for a quick bite when they’re hungry. But if you’re tired of spending roughly $5.99 for a container, you’ll be happy to hear that making it at home is easy and delicious!

Roasted Bell Pepper

Ingredients:

  • Cooked chickpeas (1, 15oz. can)
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 tbsp tahini
  • 1 small clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp finely ground black pepper
  • 1 cup roasted bell pepper

Lemon

Ingredients:

  • Cooked chickpeas (1, 15oz. can)
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 tbsp tahini
  • 1 small clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp finely ground black pepper
  • ¼ cup chopped preserved lemons

Olive

Ingredients:

  • Cooked chickpeas (1, 15oz. can)
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 tbsp tahini
  • 1 small clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp finely ground black pepper
  • ¾ cup chopped green or black olives

Directions:

 

  • Rinse and drain chickpeas (pinch skins for smoother hummus)
  • Combine all ingredients in food processor and blend until smooth.
  • Taste and adjust seasonings
  • Transfer to a bowl and serve with your choice of pita wedges, pita chips, sliced vegetables or pretzels
