5 Pancake Toppings Kids Love Best | Chip's Family Restaurant

While we have nothing against topping your pancakes with the traditional butter and syrup, we’re here to tell you that there’s a whole world of pancake toppings you could be missing out on. The next time you decide to whip up some homemade pancakes for your family, try adding some of these kid-approved toppings.

1.Fruit

Your kids can enjoy a delicious breakfast while also managing to get in a few of their daily servings of fruit. Chopped bananas, strawberries, blueberries —  the list is endless. Also, you can try making your own berry compote instead of smothering their pancakes in jam. Simply heat some berries in a pan on low heat.

2.Chocolate

You can certainly top your pancakes with store-bought chocolate syrup, but you’d be surprised at how much more flavor a homemade sauce has. Nutella, semi-sweet, dark, milk — just melt your favorite kind of chocolate together with some coconut oil or condensed milk, and voila!

3.Nuts

We think peanut butter tastes great on everything, and kids seem to agree. You can either add a creamy spread or a handful of chopped pecans, cashews, or almonds.

4.Granola

It’s hard to believe that so much healthy goodness can come out of such a simple snack, but granola manages to do it all. As an already popular breakfast snack, granola can help aid digestion, reduce your cholesterol, boost your energy, and prevent anemia.

5.Marshmallows

While we don’t know if this should become a weekday regular in your house, marshmallow pancakes make a delicious weekend treat — and they’re certainly “kid approved!”
