4 Unexpected Foods You Should Be Grilling | Chip's Family Restaurant

Summer is officially here and nothing says summer like a backyard barbecue. It’s time to throw your apron on and fire up the grill, but this time, we’re not talking about burgers and dogs. It’s time to get creative and think outside the box. Today, we’re focusing on 4 surprising foods that you can in fact, grill.

    1. Grilled Angel Food Cake: when time is not on your side, you can always turn to angel food cake. And when you’re really in a rush, throw it on the grill. Top it with a fruit salsa and you’ll be good to go!

    2. Blue Cheese and Bacon Stuffed Peppers: sure, you may have grilled peppers before, but have you ever grilled peppers with blue cheese and bacon? They make for great appetizers and you make a bunch of them from a single bag.

    3. Barbecued Pizza: pizza needs to be made in a hot oven, right? Wrong. All you need to do is stretch the dough and throw it right on the grill. The best thing about grilled pizza is that you can pick the toppings. This is a perfect option for weeknight family dinners.

    4. Grilled Sandwiches: if you’re a fan of panini sandwiches, you’ll be a fan of grilled sandwiches. We highly recommend throwing a few Italian meats and cheeses on a loaf of Italian bread and tossing the whole thing on the grill. Another great idea if you need an appetizer for a bunch of people.
