Thanksgiving Wouldn't Be Complete Without These 5 Side Dishes | Chip's Family Restaurant

Is the real star of Thanksgiving the turkey or the side dishes? This has been a heated debate for decades and we simply don’t think we’ll solve the puzzle this year. With that said, we can help you decide on which side dishes you absolutely MUST include on the table and then you can have your friends and family members vote!

Loaded Mashed Potatoes

Why serve classic garlic mashed potatoes when you can kick it up a notch with bacon bits and crispy scallions? We recommend using thick cut bacon for more substance and let’s face it, who doesn’t love bacon? You can even mix in shredded cheddar cheese for an extra special treat.

Punched Up Gratin

You may never look at creamy potato gratin the same way after you mix in spaghetti squash. Not only will it add unparalleled texture and great flavor, it gives you another reason to buy spaghetti squash before it becomes difficult to find.

Broccoli Mac n Cheese

Think macaroni and cheese is just for the kids? Think again. Mix in roasted broccoli and you’ve got yourself a side dish nobody will be able to turn down.

Maple Brussels Sprouts

All you need to do for this one is chop brussels sprouts in half, add them to a frying pan, mix in some olive oil and season with maple spice. Cook them on low heat for approximately 40 minutes and then switch to high heat for the last sixty seconds.

Cranberry Apple Sauce

We recommend Granny Smith apples for the crisp, tart flavors. Once they’ve been simmered with a dash of sugar and fresh cranberries, mix in some dried cranberries and you’ll have the perfect topping for just about anything on your plate.
