Saint Paddy’s Day is coming very soon! In the US, it’s a holiday often celebrated by the Irish and even people who simply love the Irish spirit! It’s a fun day to dress in green, eat delicious food, drink beer, ride a parade float, test your luck, and just have fun! On Saint Patrick’s Day, come to Chip’s Family Restaurant to try a few menu items that will help you get in the Irish spirit!
A staple of the Irish diet has always been potatoes! This is largely because potatoes grow very easily, even in poor soil! This explains why the Potato Famine of 1845 largely affected the Irish population. Luckily, Chip’s has no potato famine so get on down here and feed your Irish side with potato dishes like these!
Potato Pancakes
Our own homemade recipe… Five pancakes made with shredded potato, a hint of onion and parsley. Served with sour cream, applesauce and three strips of bacon. A delicious way to celebrate the holiday!

In the US, corned beef and cabbage has become a traditional meal on Saint Patrick’s Day. This likely grew out of the fact that those foods were less expensive for immigrants who came to America. They substituted beef for pork and cabbage for potatoes! At Chip’s Family Restaurant we’ve got a couple ways you can get your corned beef fix!
Corned Beef Hash
