Quick and Easy Back-to-School Lunches

There’s a lot to be done to get children ready to go back to school – between finding first day of school outfits, a new backpack and buying school supplies alone, there isn’t much time to think about anything else. But of course, it doesn’t end there – if you’re a parent, then you also know that you have to figure out what your children are going to eat every day!

If you’re in this situation right now, we’re here to make life a little easier for you today; check out some quick and easy back-to-school lunch ideas below.

Wraps

Since wraps can be customized to include just about anything and everything, they are the perfect choice if you have a picky eater at home. For this lunch, just ask your child for their favorite food combinations and pack them all together in a plain or whole wheat wrap!

Bagels

No, bagels are not just for breakfast! In addition to using spreads such as butter or cream cheese, bagels can even be used to put a twist on traditional sandwiches such as ham and cheese or PB&J to make them more of a lunch-time meal.

Salad

Healthy, filling and delicious! From your standard garden salad to caesar, Italian and more, so long as you have the right ingredients and a container for your child to bring it in, you can’t go wrong with one – just don’t forget to pack some dressing on the side!

Quesadillas

Quesadillas are just as good served cold as they are when served warm, so you won’t have to worry if your child doesn’t have access to a microwave. Similar to what we mentioned with wraps, you can make a quesadilla with just about any combination of ingredients – if your child picks them out, you know they’ll love it come lunch time!

Last but not least, don’t forget about the power of leftovers! When preparing dinner on a school night, see if what you’re cooking would make sense for your child to bring to school the next day – is it easy to pack? Would it require any additional preparation? If you think that your dinner would make for a good lunch too, consider making extra so that you take care of two meals at once!
