Let’s face it – we can’t all go out to eat five days a week, we just don’t have the time or the funds to keep up. But that doesn’t mean you should settle for bland, boring or blah lunches. There are lots of ways to take meals from home and trick yourself into thinking you’re at a 5-star restaurant, at least we think so!
Condiments are Key
When it comes to sandwiches, salads and snacks condiments can make it or break it. Lots of times people keep their food dry because putting a condiment, sauce or dressing on the night before will make it soggy. Well, there are tiny containers that solve the problem and we highly recommend investing in a few! Small tupperwares work, too.
Make Use of Your Slow Cooker
Slow cookers are great for making large quantities of food for cheap. The best part, you can make lots of extras, freeze it and take them as leftovers any day of the week or month!
The Wet Paper Towel Trick
Hate bringing in certain foods because they don’t turn out well in the microwave? Place a wet paper towel over the dish to help any pasta or rice dish retain its moisture.
Prep In Advance
We understand that you probably don’t have time to cook gourmet meals each morning. For that reason, dedicate some time on Sunday nights to plan out your meals for the week. It’s also a good idea to place lunch-sized portions of leftovers into containers while you’re cleaning up from dinner.
Don’t Be Afraid to Eat Out
While heading out for lunch every day of the week can be unreasonable, it’s not so terrible to treat yourself once a week. It can give you something to look forward to and make the day go by a little quicker.
